Why Is There Anything In The Universe?

Cosmologist Priyamvada Natarajan and philosopher Michael Della Rocca tell why they organized a conference at Yale (with theologian Denys Turner) on the question "Why is there anything in the universe?" They describe how advanced knowledge of the content of the universe, including discoveries about the rate at which it is expanding, compel scientists to ask fundamental philosophical questions. What is the meaning--if any--of matter? Why does this universe exist? What is existence?
