Paleo-Future is a website that examines the artwork and literature from more than 100 years ago and finds articles predicting what the year 2000 would be like as well as other looks at future events, such as when an African-American would be elected President of the U.S. If you have an interest in science, I highly recommend this entertaining site. While many of the predictions never came true, many others have or about to become real. Below are just a few snippets of this well illustrated and well written site.

The June 8, 1919 Syracuse Herald (Syracuse, New York) featured a great article about mind-reading machines that would be commonplace in the office of the future. Oddly enough, they still needed stenographers to type out the correspondence. Why couldn't the man simply verbally dictate his thoughts to a typist?
