Baldos II loaded in transport box for shipping to the US
This is a good opportunity to show the small successful car for Americans after it has achieved great success in Europe. There is also a good opportunity to profile Lulea University of Technology with excellence in research and education, "says Elizabeth Kassfeldt, Professor and Head of Baldos project at the university.
The little red car Baldos II which during the spring 2010 was highlighted in Europe, has been selected to be part of the Swedish Embassy autumn exhibition in the House of Sweden, Washington DC. It has now been loaded into its box, ready for shipping to America.
Initial fuel test of the car showed that it can run 152.2 kilometers on a liter of fuel, making it Sweden's most fuel-efficient car. Later in the spring, after a great work of LTUs students and staff, the Swedish Motor Vehicle Inspection could approve Baldo II for traffic on public roads. It attracted so much attention that Monaco's Prince Albert decided to let the car participate in the “Clean Equity Monaco”, which is a fair for the next generation of clean and green technology. Later in the spring Baldo II could carry out the race “Shell Eco Marathon” in the city of Lausitz in German successfully, as the first car to have passed the test for road security.
