SunLee Holdings Aligned Graphite AG™ a Breakthrough Technology for Thermal Management

Aligned Graphite AG™ is a  breakthrough technology for thermal management products, according to manufacturer Sunlee Holdings of Singapore. The product was exhibited at nano tech 2010 held in Tokyo in mid February.

SunLee Holdings Pte Ltd  manufactures AG™,  a thermal management material that allows users to use it as either a high heat transfer material to dissipate heat or a low heat transfer material to isolate heat by aligning the AGTM x-y axis parallel or perpendicular to the heat source.

Thermal conductivity characteristic of AG™ along the grain [615W/m.K] is 1.4 times superior to the most efficient metal - silver [430W/m.K], and 1.5 times superior than the commonly used copper [-‘400W/m.K].

Thermal conductivities of commercial graphite are in the range of 100W/m.K. That is, AG™ is ‘600% more efficient in terms of heat losses than other graphite. AG™   low apparent porosity of 1.5-4.0% compared to 10-20% for common bulk graphite means that is capable to have 12-20% higher heat capacity than other graphite available.

With AGTh’ high thermal diffusivity, it can be expected to transmit heat 8-13 times faster than will other graphite. This fully graphitized material is produced at significantly lower temperatures in extremely reduced times. Therefore, it actually is more cost-competitive with conventional graphite.
